Redefinition of Phenotypes

The rapid progress in molecular and medical sciences resulted into a deep insight into the genetic backround of common diseases. However, until know the definition of diseases and the classification into categories of severity mostly focuses on clinical parameters which are several years old. Therefore the aim of this subproject is to re-evaluate patients with chronic inflammatory diseases in respect to clinical parameters which will then be combined with genetic data in order to establish novel criteria for diagnosis and/or therapy.
